This is our review of the best golf sunglasses for men we could get our grubby little paws on. 5
I am a snob when it comes to sunglasses. I wear them every day the sun is out and have for a good 35 years or more.
My Criteria for picking sunglasses:
- The lenses have to be crystal clear.
- They have to relax my eyes for ZERO eye strain.
- Colors must remain bright and vivid or enhanced by the lenses.
- There must be sharp contrast.
- Then, and only then, do they need to look good on me (and you)
I bought 6 7 9 11 pairs of sunglasses for this review. I tested them in the brightest sun, on the road, and in the shade. The top 5 7 (plus two honorable mentions) are on this list.
- You will see more options as I do more testing.
NOTE – I’m linking to the exact lenses I’m recommending. Lenses > Frames.
In this review of the best men’s golf sunglasses, we discuss, the benefits and features of each and our recommendations.

#1 Scheyden Looper Sunglasses – w/ Bronze Lenses (Editor’s Pick – Best Value)
- Stellar color, clarity & contrast
- Premium materials, construction, fit & finish
- Even the case is premium
- Best Value on premium sunglasses I've seen
- Nada
What we like:
- Crystal-clear lenses. Maintains superb clarity and vivid colors while relaxing the eyes.
- Great looking high-end premium Lightweight frame w/ rubber inserts in nosepiece and arms fit comfortably and don’t slip.
- Arms are snug and cling to your face and your head when you want to rest them there.
- Equally effective in the brightest light or lower light conditions.
What we don’t like:
- Nada
I’d seen these glasses around for while in golfing circles. I was very pleased to be able to get a pair to test them.
Gotta say, I was impressed before I even opened the case…
The box they came in is premium
The case that holds them is premium
The cloth you clean the lenses with is premium
The sunglasses themselves are really premium
These people are serious. They mention “aerospace-like tolerances” on the website and I believe them.

Bottom Line – If you love sunglasses (and I do) you’ll love the Scheyden Loopers. One of the more impressive pair of sunglasses I’ve had the pleasure of putting on in a while. I can’t wait to try more models.

#2 Costa Del Mar Men’s Whitetip Rectangular Sunglasses (Editor’s Pick)
- Superb Clarity & Glare Protection
- Vivid colors
- Fit well (Light & Comfortable)
- Nice style
- Nada
Costa Del Mar’s Whitetips are our former #1 Recommendation for best golf sunglasses. (They’re still awesome)
What we like:
- Crystal-clear lenses. Maintains superb clarity and vivid colors while relaxing the eyes.
- Lightweight frame w/ rubber inserts in nosepiece and arms fit comfortably and don’t slip.
- Fits smaller faces well.
- Great looking tortoiseshell frames.
- Wrap-around style provides side glare protection.
- Perfect for the brightest sunny day or for preventing eye strain from glare.
What we don’t like:
- Nothing, really.
The Whitetips are the first Costa Del Mars I’ve ever worn. I know they’re supposed to be good sunglasses, but you never know until you put them on.
Well, put them on I did and the love affair began immediately.
My eyes relaxed.
I saw colors with excellent detail and contrast.
This…is how sunglasses are supposed to work.
The wrap-around style is ideal for outdoor activities because they don’t slip as easily and they help with side glare protection.
I always opt for green lenses because they give great protection while maintaining contrast and keeping colors vivid.

Bottom Line – Exceptional clarity and glare protection while maintaining vivid colors in a sporty comfortable frame. Excellent choice for the golf course, while driving, or at the summer barbecue.

#3 Maui Jim Men’s Makoa Polarized Wrap Sunglasses
- Superb clarity & glare protection
- Good color and contrast
- Fit well (Light & Comfortable)
- Great looking
- Double hinge arms won't stay on my shiny head
- Colors & contrast aren't as vivid as our top choice
Maui Jim Men’s Makoas are next on our list of best sunglasses for golf.
What we like:
- Lenses have superb clarity and vivid colors while relaxing the eyes.
- Lightweight frame w/ rubber inserts in nosepiece and arms fit comfortably and don’t slip.
- Wrap style protects from side glare.
- Fits smaller faces well.
- Double hinge arms prevent breaking or bending easily.
- Great looking pair of glasses.
- Perfect for the brightest sunny day or for preventing eye strain from glare.
- Lifetime lens replacement.
What we don’t like:
- They don’t stay on my head because double hinge arms bend outward preventing them from squeezing and holding any pressure
I bought these glasses almost a year ago when my old Revos fell off my head and I ran over them with my golf cart. (Revo doesn’t make that style any longer which is why I went to Maui Jim after some research and personal testing)

Bottom Line – Exceptional clarity and glare protection while maintaining vivid colors in a sporty comfortable frame. Excellent choice for the golf course, while driving, or at the summer barbecue.

#4 Oakley Holbrook Square Sunglasses
- Superb clarity & glare protection while colors remain vivid
- Fit well (Light & Comfortable)
- Nice style
- Frames look good...not great
Oakley Holbrook Square Sunglasses are next on our list of best sunglasses for golf.
What we like:
- Crystal-clear lenses have superb clarity and vivid colors while relaxing the eyes.
- Lightweight frame w/ rubber inserts in nosepiece and arms fit comfortably and don’t slip.
- Fits smaller faces well.
- Love the look of the tortoiseshell frames.
- Perfect for the brightest sunny day or for preventing eye strain from glare.
What we don’t like:
- I like the frames, but don’t love the frames.
I did NOT expect these Oakleys to be this good. I’d owned many pairs of Oakleys over the years. Their frames were always great for sports and outdoor activities, but their lenses were average, at best.
No longer. The Prizm shallow water polarized lenses in these Holbrooks are neck and neck with our Editor’s Pick. Really, a nice experience for your eyes.

Bottom Line – Exceptional clarity and glare protection while maintaining vivid colors in a classic Oakley frame. Excellent choice for the golf course, while driving, or at the summer barbecue.

#5 Revo Crawler Polarized Sunglasses
- Superb clarity & glare protection while colors remain vivid
- Fit well (Light & Comfortable)
- Great style
- Lack premium color enhancement and color contrast of our top pick
Revo Crawlers are next on our list of best golf sunglasses for men (or women).
What we like:
- Lenses have superb clarity and good color preservation while relaxing the eyes.
- Lightweight frame w/ rubber inserts in nosepiece and arms fit comfortably and don’t slip.
- Single hinge arms hold well on my shiny head.
- Our favorite frames of the bunch. Love the look of the matt tortoiseshell finish.
- Perfect for the brightest sunny day or just preventing eye strain from glare.
What we don’t like:
- The lenses don’t enhance color perception as well as our Editor’s Pick.
I’ve owned 2-3 pairs of Revo sunglasses. I LOVE their lenses – specifically their green lenses – because I demand clarity and vivid colors while reducing or eliminating eye strain from my sunglasses.
The Terra lenses of the Crawlers are crystal-clear, and color enhancement is really good, but not to the level of our Editor’s pick.

Bottom Line – Exceptional clarity and glare protection while maintaining good colors in a handsome comfortable frame. Excellent choice for the golf course, while driving, or at the summer barbecue.

#6 Costa Del Mar Men’s Rinconcito Rectangular Sunglasses
- Superb clarity - Glare protection - Vivid Colors
- Fit well (Light & Comfortable)
- Nice style
- Pricey
Costa Del Mar Men’s Rinconcitos are next on our list of best golf sunglasses of 2025.
What we like:
- Lenses have superb clarity and vivid colors while relaxing the eyes.
- Lightweight frame w/ rubber inserts in nosepiece and arms fit comfortably and don’t slip.
- Single hinge arms hold well on my shiny head.
- Love the look of the tortoiseshell frames.
- Perfect for the brightest sunny day or just preventing eye strain from glare.
What we don’t like:
- The frames are a little big for the average face. (or for my face)
The Rinconcitos, like the Whitetips, have our favorite lenses. They reduce eye strain and maintain clarity and enhance colors to make them more vivid than with just the naked eye.
The frames are well-made and comfortable. They’re just a bit too big for my face and/or face shape.

Bottom Line – Exceptional clarity and glare protection while maintaining vivid colors in a sporty comfortable frame. Excellent choice for the golf course, while driving, or at the summer barbecue.

#7 Schinzo Tamura Joto Sunglasses w/ (Carbon) Lenses
- Exceptional clarity & eye comfort
- Very good color contrast
- Throwback 60s style fits well and stays secure
- Excellent 5-year warranty
- Color accuracy & contrast not as good as other top pics
- 60's Wellington styling not for everyone
Oakley Men’s Sylas sunglasses with “Prizm Golf” lenses are new to our list.
What we like:
- Exceptional clarity & eye comfort
- Very good color contrast with premium TALEX polarized lenses
- Throwback 60s style fits well and stays secure
- Excellent 5-year warranty
What we don’t like:
- Throwback frames are not my favorite (but growing on me)
- Colors aren’t as vivid as our top picks.
Fit and finish are superb and they fit perfectly for activities outdoors.
The styling is different from any sunglasses I’ve ever tested. And, that’s not a bad thing.

Bottom Line – An excellent pair or sunglasses with a crazy-good warranty. Grab them if you like the style, everything else is top notch.

#7 Oakley Mens Sylas Sunglasses w/ (Prizm Golf) Lenses
- Superb clarity & contrast
- Frames Look Great & Fit Great
- Brighten vision while relaxing eye strain
- Lenses wash out colors a little so they aren't as vivid
- No case
Oakley Men’s Sylas sunglasses with “Prizm Golf” lenses are new to our list.
What we like:
- They immediately brighten vision while still relaxing your eyes.
- Superb clarity and contrast.
- Great looking light weight frames that fit well.
- Awesome for slightly overcast days.
What we don’t like:
- Colors aren’t as vivid and have a slight “washed out” appearance.
Prizm Golf lenses are unique in the world of premium sunglass lenses.
The red tint isn’t so new, but the Prizm technology used with this tent gave me an experience I hadn’t had before.
They’re the brightest sunglasses I’ve worn and they seem to cast a bright light on the world.
All while still relaxing your eyes and reducing eye strain.
These aren’t my favorite Oakley Prizm lenses (That goes to the Prizm Shallow Water lenses), but I do like them quite a bit.
Read full Oakley Men’s Sylas Sunglasses review.
Bottom Line – I think these are great sunglasses in general, but they really shine on cloudier days when glare is high, but the sun isn’t shining it’s brightest. .

#6 Oakley Mens Sylas Sunglasses w/ (Prizm Jade) Lenses
- Superb clarity & glare protection
- Great looking frames
- Good contrast and detail
- Bargain price
- Lacks premium color enhancement and brightness of our top picks
- No case
Oakley Men’s Sylas sunglasses with “Prizm Jade” lenses are next on our list.
What we like:
- Superb clarity and contrast.
- Eliminates eye strain.
- Rich colors.
- Great looking light weight frames that fit well.
- Great price.
What we don’t like:
- Colors are rich, but the lenses are a little dark for my liking
- No case.
Prizm Jade lenses blend superb clarity with a darker tent common to what most people think sunglasses should look like.
Green or “Jade” lenses are generally the best option for golf or for people that want vivid colors to go along with excellent clarity and relief from eye strain.
Prizm Jade lenses are darker than what I expected. But, as stated above, visual clarity is still on par with the best out there.
You’ll love them if you don’t mind darker tint but want to maintain all the attributes I just mentioned.
Bottom Line – Excel in every way but are a little dark for my personal taste. May not be for yours. 100% worth a test if you’re in the market and don’t mind bargain pricing.

#8 Timberland Men’s Injected Sunglasses
- Surprisingly good lenses: Excellent clarity - Zero distortion - Great contrast - Relaxes the eyes
- Great price
- Ordinary frames
These Timberlands are a surprise pick for our list.
What we like:
- Surprisingly good lenses. Excellent clarity with color enhancement and glare protection.
- Lightweight frame rests easy on my face.
- Frames are a liiitle big. They don’t stay on my head or hat easily.
- Decent styling.
- Great price.
What we don’t like:
- Ho Hum styling. A small complaint for what you get.
I did not suspect these would be good sunglasses, but they certainly are. If you’re budget conscious, they are an excellent pick.
The lenses are top notch and a steal at their price.
Bottom Line – Great lenses in nice frames at a killer price.
#9 Tifosi Swick Mens Golf Sunglasses
- Quality lenses with good clarity - no distortion - good contrast
- Quality frames fit well
- Nice style
- Colors not as vivid as our top pick
Tifosi sunglasses are in every pro shop I ever go in these days and I finally got around to testing them.
What we like:
- Lenses are clear, distortion free, good glare protection, and offer good contrast.
- Lightweight frame rests easy on my face and grab my head well.
- Frames are a little wide, but not bad.
- Good styling.
- Good price.
What we don’t like:
- Not the same level of vivid colors or clarity as our top picks.
They’re a solid pair of sunglasses that will serve all but the most demanding sunglasses wearers – like myself.
Bottom Line – Good lenses and nice frames at a good price.
