In our Bag Boy HB-100 hybrid bag review, I discuss its functionality, stability, build quality, and I compare it to a couple alternatives.
I tested the new BagBoy HB-100 on the course and during a practice session.
Quick Take: The HB-100 is a light hybrid stand bag with a 14-way full-length divider top, seven pockets, a removable double strap, and Bag Boy’s Top-Lok cart attachment.
It does 99% of what I need a bag to do, and looks good doing it.
- 14-way Full Length Dividers
- Great Looking Bag
- Ample Storage
- Top-Lok System
- Double Carry Straps
- Unique divider layout can be a little confusing

Best For
Golfers who prefer a stand bag, want at least seven pockets, won’t drop below a 14-way full-length divider top with good alignment, and want double straps for carrying.
Considerations
The 14-way layout aligns the clubs but uses a unique pattern that can be confusing when you’re replacing clubs in order from a cart.
Verdict
The Bag Boy HB-100 is the 100 Series bag you can carry.
Five pounds, a 14-way full-length divider top, seven pockets, a removable double strap, and Top-Lok cart locking.
The rain hood is ordinary and the 14-way layout takes a round to learn, but for a stand-bag golfer who wants real dividers, genuine storage, and a double strap at a fair price, it’s an easy call.
Where To Get Yours

Looks

The overall design and a couple of the color options are what stand out to me.
For me, the Navy and Sand colors are the standouts.
The 100 Series uses a high-density hex-weave polyester that looks like sturdy canvas — tough without being coarse.
Fit, trim, and finish all look high quality.
Weight & Portability
At 5 pounds, it’s plenty light — in line with most bags in this class. I carried it to and from the course and through a range session.
The double straps adjust easily and sit comfortably.
The swivel-clip system removes and reattaches the strap without trouble; the only thing to remember is your strap configuration when you put it back on.
The swivels work and go unnoticed. The mesh hip pad does its job.
The flex-base internal stand deploys easily and stays stable once the legs are down.
Club Storage

The 14-way top gives every club its own slot, and the full-length Individual Divider System runs the clubs all the way to the base without tangling at the bottom. Pulling and replacing clubs from the cart took no fighting, and there’s plenty of room in the collar for fat or oversized grips.
The catch is the layout. The divider pattern is unique and aligns the clubs in a way that can be confusing when you’re putting them back in order mid-round.
Score: 4.
Cart Compatibility (Top-Lok)

Top-Lok is Bag Boy’s strapless bag-to-cart attachment.
I tested it on the Nitron Swivel. The bag slips onto the mechanism from the top — the sightline can get blocked by clubs poking out of the top, so you seat it partly by feel — and then it’s secure.
Lock the bottom bungee strap and you can forget about it for the round.
Once seated, it’s solid, with no twist. It holds better than strapping a standard bag to a cart. Getting it on and off is a two-handed job. During the riding round, the bag also sat well in a standard motorized cart’s well.
Note for buyers: Top-Lok’s strapless lock works with Bag Boy and Datrek bags on Bag Boy push carts (Nitron, Tri Swivel II, Quad XL, Compact 3). The bag still works on any cart — you just use the straps instead of the lock.
Other Storage & Organization

Seven pockets, each placed where it should be — standard for a hybrid or stand bag, with nothing wasted.
There’s a full-length apparel pocket. The water-resistant fleece valuables pocket holds a wallet, keys, and a watch with room to spare, though it’s not deep enough for sunglasses.
The insulated cooler pocket is built into the bag and sized for a couple of cans. I don’t use cooler pockets, but it’s there if you do.
The towel ring and the hook-and-loop glove holder both work — I clip gloves to the top handle out of habit, but the patch does its job.
The integrated tee holders hold tees securely.
Build Quality
Materials are rugged and high quality while looking good.
The zipper pulls are high quality and functional, the same ones Bag Boy uses across its bags.
Fit and finish are top notch.
The hex-weave fabric and base feel rugged, and the stand legs, feet, and strap hardware all feel built to last.
This bag should be around a while.
Rain Protection
The bag is water-resistant, not waterproof — the valuables and accessory pockets carry the water-resistant rating.
The rain hood is the same one that goes with every other Bag Boy or Datrek bag I’ve tested.
It’s minimal and does a decent job.
Value
At $199.95, the price is fair for what you get. Inside Bag Boy’s own lineup, the Chiller Pro runs $229.95 and the Datrek Go Lite comes in lower. The HB-100 is the value pick of the group for anyone who ever carries — it’s the only one of the three built around a double strap.
Customer Reviews
Early owner sentiment is strong. The bag shows 5.0 ratings on Bag Boy’s product page.(1)
Retailers including Worldwide Golf Shops and Carl’s Golfland, and MyGolfSpy scored it 8.7 in its stand-bags-under-$200 testing, calling out the large dividers and easy club entry.

The choice comes down to how you get around the course.
- You ever carry: HB-100. The double strap is the deciding factor.
- You only ride or push: Chiller Pro. It has a 15-way top with tighter alignment, more storage, and a removable cooler bag. Its single strap is the one drawback, and it doesn’t matter if you never carry.
- You travel light and don’t need many dividers: SB-100. Lighter at 4.5 pounds with a 5-way top. Fine if you’re less particular about the divider top.
Best Alternative

If you want to step up, the Stewart NEXAS is the premium alternative I’ve tested — about $200 more. The comparable in-house option is the Chiller Pro, with the single-strap caveat above.
