Bag Boy Nitron Swivel Push Cart Review – Is it Really Flawless?

A solid push cart should open and close in seconds, lock your bag in tight, give you somewhere useful to stash accessories, roll smooth, turn on a dime, and never feel like a workout to push 18 holes.

Nitron Swivel Build Quality & Construction

High end materials and high end build top to bottom.

Nothing feels thrown in. No cutting corners. It’s a solid piece of kit with superb functionality.

It looks and feels substantial without the sense or reality of being heavy or burdensome to operate.

The Bag Boy’s Top-Lok system us currently undefeated in securing Top-Lok compatible bags.

But, i’ve used it with non Top-Loc bags and it’s worked fine.

In fact, I ignored the Top-Lok system (accidentally) when I first used it with a Bag Boy bag.

I just used the top cradle and strap without issue. I don’t recommend this, but it can be done.

Performance on the Course – Maneuverability & Stability

Superb, best in class, or at least, as good as any I’ve tried.

It handles all your terrains with confidence and security.

I especially love – other than the new swiveling front wheel – the large, non-slip, cushy handle.

This is an underrated feature in a good cart. Small handles limit leverage for one, and even two handed operation.

The Nitron’s generous handle is a breeze compared to it’s smaller-handled rivals.

Storage & Accessories

The top console was alreay good to go, then Bag Boy went to work on the bag underneath the console.

They’ve put compartments in side for balls, the umbrella holder, head covers, clothes, or whatever you please. It’s a genuine convenience.

In addition:

• A roomy top compartment keeps balls, tees, scorecards, and other small essentials within easy reach.
• Built-in accessory clips allow you to attach an umbrella holder, sand bottle, or other add-ons for a fully customized setup.

Ease of Use – Folding, Unfolding & Storing

The Nitron Swivel, like the Nitron Auto-Open, could NOT be easier to open unless they installed a button that opens it for you.

The auto-open mechanism is the only one of its kind I’ve seen or used — you barely have to pull on the handle and the cart unfolds itself almost instantly.

Step 1: Flip the gray handle lock release open.
Step 2: Lift up on the big cushy steering handle.

The cart starts to open and the Nitro-Piston™ does the rest.

Despite its substantial size, the Swivel folds down compactly and includes a convenient carrying handle.

One minor thing to watch out for when carrying the unopened cart: if you grab the steering handle instead of the carrying handle, the cart will start to open on you. Easy to avoid once you’ve done it once (or twelve).

Potential Alternatives

Bag Boy Nitron Auto Open – Almost everything the Swivel has but the Swivel. The accessory bag is roomy, but not constructed as well for particular items.

Bag Boy Quad Pro – It’s got the auto-open feature. It’s got the sturdy build with the big comfortable handle. But, it’s got 4 wheels for greater front end stability.

Clicgear Rovic RV1S – I tested this one years ago and really liked it. Relatively easy to open. Well made. Rolls and maneuvers well. Version 2 is not out.

Final Verdict on the Nitron Swivel

The Nitron Swivel gave me the best push cart experience I’ve had – from the trunk, to the course, and back to the trunk.

They’ve clearly thought of everything and have the engineering know-how to put it into action.

For those looking for a premium push cart experience, I’ve seen none better and the Nitron Swivel needs to be on your list.
