Titleist T250 Irons Review – Premium Performance at a Premium Price

This is our Titleist T250 irons review.

I’m an avid golfer, 6ish handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6) and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.

In this review of Titleist T250 irons, I discuss my experience with the clubs, their unique features and benefits, customer reviews, and potential alternatives.

What Makes the T250s Different?

The T250 is Titleist’s replacement for the popular T200—and they made it bigger to create more separation from the T150.

High-Strength Steel Construction

The entire face and body are made from high-strength steel. This is an engineering feat that lets Titleist pack serious tech inside while keeping that clean, refined look. Most player distance irons compromise on aesthetics to house the distance tech. The T250s don’t.

Forged L-Face with V-Taper Design

This is the speed engine. The forged L-Face generates explosive ball speed across the entire face, and the V-Taper design increases launch on low-face strikes. Translation: you get distance even when you miss center.

Improved Max Impact Technology

Titleist re-engineered this to tighten carry distance and dispersion. More aggressive grooves in the mid and short irons deliver better spin control from any lie—wet conditions, tight lies, rough. The consistency is noticeable.

Split High-Density Tungsten

Strategically placed tungsten produces optimal CG with high stability in a compact profile. The heads don’t look oversized, but you get forgiveness that performs like they are.

Stronger Lofts

The 7-iron sits at 30.5°. Combined with the internal weighting and face tech, you’re getting legitimate distance gains without losing control.

Player Distance Aesthetics

The compact head size, refined topline, and subtle offset give you the look of a better player’s iron with the performance of a distance iron. They frame the ball beautifully at address—confidence-inspiring without screaming “game improvement.”

At ~$214 per club, they’re positioned as premium player distance irons. But unlike most irons in this category, they don’t sacrifice looks for performance. You get both.

Bag Appeal: (5) Lust at first site. Right there with the new P790s. Titleist does not know how to make a less than beauty-pageant level iron.

They do so much by sticking with what you expect and refining around the edges. (Not sure any of what I just wrote makes sense – They’re just pirty)

Sound/ Feel: (4) Really solid with a hint of softness. Muted when I caught the sweet spot. Never harsh on mishits.

Forgiveness: (5) Ample and more than I deserved on a number of occassions. Especially thin shots. Maintained correct distance with excellent stopping power.

Distance: (4.5) Plenty. Not super-long, but long as you need.

Flight / Launch: (5) They launched and carried plenty high during my testing. I played a whole bunch of flighted shots too, which came off nicely. You can shape them any way your skill allows.

Wallet Damage: (4) ~$214/club. More than most competitors, but pretty standard pricing for Titleist. No surprises.

My Experience with Pro S1s

As stated above – lust at first site sitting right there in the box.

They look great in online images. They look twice that good in person.

Beyond looks, they’ve got a ton of performance tech hidden under the hood.

Tungsten weighting in the heel and toe to optimize CG (Center of Gravity).
Max Impact Technology for consistent carry distance paired with aggressive grooves in the mid and short irons for better performance out of the rough. (I tested this out during my rounds).

I started out with the T250s on the range to get a quick feel for them.

The real fun came during my 3 rounds with them: 87, 81, 83.

My swing – as usual, though more than usual – is in flux and I relied heavily on the T250s to bail me out time and again.

Between being bailed out, I hit a few solid shots per round and got to experience the T250s in all their glory.

I did a lot of catching the T250s about a groove or a half a groove low – thin – but I’d end up getting most of the correct trajectory and all the distance on these shots.

Plenty of spin meant the ball settled within a foot to a yard where the ball landed too.

From pitching wedge to 6-iron. These things held greens for me on less than ideal contact.

Who Should Play Titleist T250 Irons?

Titleist says the T250s are for mid handicappers.₍₁₎

Maybe…but “mid handicap” covers a whole lot of ground. From 18ish down to a 9 or 10 handicap. (Good luck getting a consistent definition)

My take:

I’m a 6ish handicap and I could/would play the T250s. They’ve got the player looks I’m drawn to, plus the playability I like.

I think 10ish handicaps on down are the sweet spot for these. You may want to pass if you’re a consistent high-ball hitter and fight to keep the ball down.

Low handicaps: (Yep) These are your clubs if you want higher trajectory, more distance, and more forgiveness.
Mid handicaps: (Maybe) Gotta be close to a 10, in my opinion.
High handicaps: (Nope) You’ve got great options.

What Are the Best Alternatives to Titleist T250 Irons?

2025 TaylorMade P790 – Many of the same qualities and also absolute eye candy.

Final Verdict

Titleist T250s give you all the distance you need, all the forgiveness you need, the help with launch and carry you need, plus a most attractive package.

The only minor complaint may be that they aren’t shy about charging you for it.

But, that’s a minor complaint. They are about $14 more per club than their competition. That’s about $100 for a 7-club set once all is said and done.

Worth it? Not for bargain hunters. Then again, Titleist doesn’t make clubs for bargain hunters.

They have some close competitors that perform similarly for less, or a lot less.

My #1 suggestion is to try to get your hands on them before you buy.
