I’m an avid golfer, a 9.2 7 handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6) and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.
I’ve had the Stealth 2 Plus driver for six or seven months now. I’ve played multiple rounds, practiced a little at the range (I don’t hit many drivers at the range), and had it on my launch monitor at the range and on my back patio.

Taylormade Stealth 2 Plus Driver Overview & Why You Should Consider It

Taylormade uses 75% more carbon in the Stealth 2 Plus than in the original Stealth Plus. So, they moved weight around in the head to increase forgiveness and increase MOI over a larger portion of the face.

Why Consider the Stealth 2 Plus Driver
It’s long. It’s forgiving. It sounds and feels great. It’s made a mediocre driver – me – an effective driver of the golf ball. You just have to decide if you want to spend the money.
My Experience with the Stealth 2 Plus
I’ve been playing with the Stealth 2 Plus driver off and on for months now. It’s in the rotation of drivers I use. I go between the Paradym, Stealth 2, and Stealth 2 Plus.
I don’t do a ton of work on the range because I’m still fighting neck and back issues – mostly neck issues – these days. So, I don’t swing a ton of drivers.
What I do is play a lot since the temps started dipping below 100 F here in Houston.
Driving is often the best part of my game during my rounds. Something I never thought I’d say. The Stealth 2 Plus makes up for a LOT of shortcomings.
I’m now surprised when I strike the ball well and I’m not out at or past 300 yards. The dry conditions account for some a lot of that. But, the Stealth 2 Plus really sends the ball.
I also still mishit quite a few shots, but I’m still playable with good distance. Like I said, this club will cover for all but your worst swings.
Review of the Taylormade Stealth Plus Driver
Looks (A+) I’m a fan (and so are my golfing buddies). The new shiny black finish with red highlights pops a whole lot more than last year’s Stealth. The red face is a touch brighter, but still attractive and not distracting.
Sound/ Feel (A+) Improved over the Stealth Plus. Among the best in the game. Very solid and soft at impact.
Distance (A+) Excellent distance. Center contact on a good swing is incredible, miss it by a little and you’re still down the fairway a good ways.
Forgiveness (A) Plenty. All Stealth 2 drivers make up for marginal swings quite well.
Flight (A) Medium-high to high with a good swing.
Value (B) Sorry, $630 for a driver is a lot of scratch.

Who is the Stealth 2 Plus Driver For?
The Taylormade Stealth 2 Plus has tons of forgiveness and all the distance. All but the highest handicaps could probably put it in play.
High handicap – Yes
Mid handicap – Yes
Low handicap – (Yes) I’m not saying it’s ideal for you, but I bet you can play it with some work.

Our Final Verdict on the Taylormade Stealth 2 Plus Driver Review
The Stealth 2 Plus is long, forgiving, looks great, sounds great, and feels great. It makes me a more consistent and effective driver of the golf ball.
Should you upgrade if you own the original Stealth Plus driver?
No, I don’t think you need to. Unless you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket. The look and sound are improved, and maybe a little more forgiveness. But, that’s a lot of money to hand out for marginal improvements.
My #1 suggestion is to test before you buy. Either at your local golf store or take advantage of Global Golf’s Utry trial program. I use it and recommend it.
