This is Golfer Geeks’ comparison of the Taylormade Qi35 driver vs Qi10 driver.

I tested the Qi10 a year ago and again for this comparison.

I hit the Qi10 and Qi35 together for three range sessions, using launch monitors for each. I used the Garmin R50 and Garmin R10 for ball and club data.

Summary: I got equal or better performance with the Qi10, and it costs about $120 less than the Qi35.

The Qi35 and Qi10 perform very similarly by the numbers:

  • Carry distance / Ball speed / Club speed / Launch / Peak height

That said, I hit the Qi10 straighter and longer, more consistently. I also prefer its head shape and overall look.

Or…

Maybe I hit it straighter and longer because I like the way it looks at address. Golf is funny like that โ€” confidence matters.

Now let’s dive deeper and see how these two drivers compare across key categories like bag appeal, sound & feel, distance, forgiveness, and more.

Taylormade Qi35 Driver

Taylormade Qi35 Driver w: Headcover

Loft: 10.5ยฐ
Shaft: Project X HZRDUS Smoke RDX Blue 60g 6.0 Stiff

While Iโ€™m not a big fan of the head shape or the overall cosmetics, the face is a new darker blue that looks great behind the ball.

The club has plenty of pop and about as much forgiveness as I expected.

The Qi35 let’s you dial in ball flight more than the Qi10 with movable sole weights. They both have the same loft sleeve.

Here’s what’s new with the Qi35:

  • Infinity Carbon Crown for better mass redistribution and forgiveness.
  • Trajectory Adjustment System with movable weights for controlling spin and shot shape.
  • High Inertia Shape with Twist Faceโ„ข, Speed Pocketโ„ข, and a 4ยฐ loft sleeve.

It’s more of the “everyman” driver. I think it’ll best serve you as long as youโ€™re a competent driver.

Taylormade Qi10 Driver

Taylormade's Qi10 Driver

Loft: 10.5ยฐ
Shaft: Project X HZRDUS Smoke RDX Blue 60g 6.0 Stiff

The Qi10 remains a solid, premium driver.

It rewards good swings with explosive distance and has plenty of forgiveness when you miss toward the heel or toe.

The sound and feel are excellent โ€” muted, soft, and springy โ€” which I think Taylormade really nailed with this model.

Compared to the Qi35, the Qi10 offers:

  • A more classic Taylormade driver look with the Infinity Carbon Crown and alignment features.
  • Outstanding forgiveness and distance, even on marginal contact.
  • Premium sound and feel that many golfers will prefer.
  • A slightly simpler setup (no movable weights), which will appeal to players who want to keep things straightforward.

This is a driver that will work for a wide range of players โ€” especially those who value consistency and feel.

I tested these drivers side by side on 3 days at the driving range. The numbers above are from my most consistent ball striking day and I think are the best representation of their true performance.

Takeaways:

  • Ball Speed: Within a couple miles per hour.
  • Carry Distance: Basically the same.
  • Launch & Peak Height: They generally launched about the same and were within a few feet at peak height..
  • Forgiveness: I hit the Qi10 better, but I suspect they’re equally forgiving.

Overall: I prefer the Qi10 as a package. Maybe because I liked looking down at it at address much more. Confidence is a thing.

Bag Appeal โ€“ Qi10
I prefer the Qi10โ€™s more traditional Taylormade driver look. The Qi35 head shape and cosmetics arenโ€™t my favorite, though the darker blue face is a nice touch.

Sound & Feel โ€“ Draw
Both drivers sound and feel excellent. The Qi10 might have a slight edge here for players who like a more muted, classic Taylormade feel.

Distance โ€“ Qi10
The raw numbers were pretty equal when I was swinging well.

Forgiveness โ€“ Probably a draw
I hit the Qi10 better, but I suspect they’re pretty equal on this one.

Ball Flight โ€“ Draw
Both drivers produced high, playable ball flights. Peak height and launch angles were very close.

Value โ€“ Qi10
The Qi10 is a much better value โ€” it performs the same and costs about $130 less than the Qi35. Unless you strongly prefer the Qi35โ€™s adjustability or cosmetics, the Qi10 is the smarter buy.

Final Verdict

The Qi35 and Qi10 delivered similar numbers in my testing.

But, I hit the Qi10 better – Straighter more consistently – and I strongly prefer it’s cosmetics and head shape.

I’m not saying that will be the case for everyone.

Should you upgrade if you own the Qi10?
Nope – I didn’t detect any appreciable advantage.

Should you choose the Qi35 or Qi10?
I’d go with the Qi10 for about $130 less.

Bottom line: For me, the Qi10 is the better value and the smarter buy โ€” unless youโ€™re drawn to the Qi35โ€™s adjustability or cosmetics.

As always, my #1 suggestion is to:
