This is our Datrek Go Lite hybrid stand bag review.
Iโm an avid golfer, a 7ish handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6) and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.
Quick Take: The Datrek Go Lite Hybrid is a lightweight (5.2 lbs) stand bag with 14 full-length dividers, cooler pocket, and TOP-LOKยฎ cart system at a competitive price.
Best for golfers who prioritize minimal weight and clean organization over maximum storageโonly 6 pockets compared to competitors with 7-8.
I’m on a golf bag testing kick lately and I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Datrek Go Lite hybrid. So, I loaded it with my clubs and golfing paraphernalia and headed to the course and to the range.

Golfers who prioritize a light weight and minimal bag that remains functional and is well made.
Considerations
While the bag is made from quality materials and constructed well, it has only 6 pockets and isn’t as robust as the Bag Boy Chiller hybrid series.

What Makes the Datrek Go Lite Hybrid Stand Bag Different?
The Datrek Go Lite Hybrid is built for golfers who want one bag that does it allโcarry, push, or ride.
It blends the functionality of a cart bag with the mobility of a stand bag, all while keeping weight down to just 5.2 lbs.
It features a 14-way top with full-length individual dividers to keep clubs organized and protected.
Dedicated rubberized wells for the putter and driver are integrated into the top to reduce wear and make access quicker.
For storage, you get six zippered pockets, including an oversized insulated cooler pocketโgreat for keeping drinks cold on hot rounds.
Thereโs also a towel ring with glove holder, an umbrella slot, pen and divot tool holders, and a rain hood with dual access.
The ergonomic double shoulder strap is designed for comfort on the course, while the base is compatible with both push and riding carts.
It also includes Datrekโs patented TOP-LOKยฎ system, which securely fastens the bag to most carts without the need for straps.

How Is Storage on the Datrek Go Lite Hybrid Bag?
The Datrek Go Lite has 6 zippered pockets including one cooler pocketโminimal compared to competitors with 7-8 pockets. Storage placement is smart, but you’ll feel the constraint if you carry a lot of gear.
The 14 full-length dividers are well-organized with individual putter and driver wells that keep clubs separated and prevent tangling.
I’m spoiled…
I recently tested and used the Bag Boy Chiller and Chiller Pro hybrid golf bags. Read that full review to get all the details.
TLDR – The most functional and well-made hybrid stand bags I’ve put my grubby paws on.
So, I review the Datrek Go Lite with them in mind.
The Go Lite has:
- 6 zippered pockets, one of them a cooler pocket.
- 14 well designed full-length dividers for club protection.
- A nice double trap that easily adjustable and comfortable for carrying.
- Cart strap pass-through to keep everything accessible.
Right off the bat, I need one more pocket.
That bottom pocket you’re looking at houses my sunglass case, sunscreen, gps or rangefinder, and that’s it.
The pocket above should hold my golf balls. But it’s a cooler pocket on the Go Lite

How Heavy Is the Datrek Go Lite to Carry?
At 5.2 lbs, the Datrek Go Lite is one of the lightest hybrid bags available with comfortable, easily adjustable double straps for carrying.
Maybe the lightest bag I’ve handled in recent memory.
The double straps are nice and easily removed if that’s a thing for you. It’s not for me. They are easily adjustable, which is a thing for me and helpful.
Carrying the bag with the straps is a breeze, whether using a single strap or the double strap.
It’s not very stable standing on its own without the legs engaged, at least not compared to Bag Boy Chiller bags – which are extremely stable.
Its got the Top-Lok system for easy compatibility with Bag Boy carts.
I imagine the Go Lite shines when carrying it on the course.
Does the Datrek Go Lite Work Well on Carts?
The Datrek Go Lite fits securely in riding carts and works excellently with Bag Boy golf push carts thanks to the TOP-LOK system.
Oddly, there’s no cart strap pass-throughโunusual for a hybrid bag in 2025. Most hybrid bags have included this feature for years.
Despite the missing pass-through, it stays secure during rides and doesn’t require constant adjustment.
How Well Is the Datrek Go Lite Built?
The Datrek Go Lite features quality materials with good stitching and fit/finish throughout. Nothing feels cheap or fragile.
Zippers, zipper pulls, carrying handle, double straps, and legs all show solid construction. No cart pass-through is an odd omission for a hybrid bag.
As far as I can tell, the Go Lite is put together well from quality materials. Nothing about it seems cheap or fragile. Stitching and fit & finish are good. Everything seems to be where it should be.
There’s no cart pass-through, which is a little odd since it’s a hybrid bag. I haven’t seen a bag without one for years.
How Does the Datrek Go Lite Handle Rain?
The included rain hood snaps on easily and should provide adequate protection during rounds. Like most bag rain hoods, it’s functional but not exceptional.
Note: This assessment is based on fit and design. I haven’t tested it in actual rain conditions.
What Are the Best Alternatives to the Datrek Go Lite?
Two Bag Boy Chiller alternatives offer more storage and stability:
- Bag Boy Chiller Pro ($229) – 15-way top with 8 pockets and innovative cooler design.
- Bag Boy Chiller Hybrid ($160) – 14-way top with 7 pockets, more storage than Go Lite.
Both are heavier but more stable and functional. The Go Lite wins on weight (5.2 lbs) if that’s your priority.

Final Verdict on the Datrek Go Lite Hybrid Stand Bag

The Datrek Go Lite Hybrid is a well-executed lightweight stand bag with just enough features to stay functional without getting bulky.
Itโs comfortable to carry, well-constructed, and does a great job organizing your clubs with its 14 full-length dividers and dedicated driver and putter wells.
Storage is on the minimal sideโjust six zippered pocketsโbut it includes a cooler pouch and thoughtful placement that covers most on-course needs.
Itโs priced a bit higher than the Bag Boy Chiller Hybrid, which we think is the better all-around bag if you donโt mind a little extra weight. The Chiller is more stable, has more storage, and still works great for walking or riding.
- If weight and simplicity top your listโand you want a clean, quality designโthe Go Lite delivers. But if you want max function for your money, the Chiller series may be the smarter buy.
