This is our Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Max driver review.
I’m an avid golfer, a 7ish handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6) and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.
I did a LOAD of testing on the range with the Triple Diamond Max, along with the Elyte X, and a few other drivers.

Best For
Low handicappers looking for a little extra pop and forgiveness.
Considerations
You can get similar performance from last year’s models for considerably less.
Verdict
The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Max driver is superb in every respect.
My only complaint is the price. (You’ll love this driver if that’s not an issue for you.)
It’s got:
- Excellent distance across much of the face.
- Great sound and feel.
- Ample forgiveness.
- High launch w/ good carry.

Bag Appeal: (4) The Triple Diamond Max looks premium at address with it’s plane black high gloss finish, and player head shape. Surprisingly, the lack of alignment markings didn’t bother me at all. Sole graphics are well done, but mediocre.
Sound/ Feel: (4) Springy, but solid feel. Sound is muted, just the way I like it. Possibly a slight improvement over last year’s AI Smoke Triple Diamond.
Forgiveness: (4) I got a lot of help from the TD Max. A ton of playable slices and pulls. Plus, a bunch of high, straight or high, draw shots.
Distance: (4) You don’t need center-strikes to get your distance, though those are very nice to witness.
Flight / Launch: (4) It launches quickly and goes plenty high. I hit gentle draws and a few unintentional fades.
Wallet Damage: (3) Expensive. $649 is a lot for the average schmo to spend on a driver. But, many of us will.
Overview & Why Consider the Elyte Driple Diamond Max
The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Max driver brings Tour-proven performance to a wider audience, combining the compact, workable feel of the original Triple Diamond with a more forgiving, higher-launching profile.
It’s designed for golfers who demand precision off the tee but still want a little extra help on off-center strikes.
Tour-Validated Design, Now with More Forgiveness
The Elyte Triple Diamond platform has already made a name for itself on professional tours around the world.
Known for its low spin, workability, and control, it has been trusted by some of the game’s best players to deliver consistent, accurate drives under pressure.
The Triple Diamond Max builds on that success, offering:
- A larger 460cc head shape for added forgiveness.
- Slightly higher spin and launch to help players keep the ball in play.
- The same compact, Tour-inspired shaping and weighting for shotmaking versatility.
It’s the perfect fit for better players who want workability but are willing to trade a little spin for added confidence and stability on mishits.
Advanced Materials & Ai-Driven Performance
Like the other models in the Elyte lineup, the Triple Diamond Max is loaded with Callaway’s latest tech:
- Ai10x Face: Callaway’s most advanced AI-designed face enhances ball speed, spin consistency, and dispersion across the face.
- Thermoforged Carbon Crown + 360° Carbon Chassis: Optimizes weight distribution for improved stability and forgiveness.
- Interchangeable Weighting System: Adjust heavy front or back weights to fine-tune spin and launch.
Together, these technologies deliver what Callaway calls “total driving performance”—a rare mix of speed, forgiveness, and control.
- Superb Distance & Forgiveness
- Great Sound & Feel
- Looove the head shape
- Solid cosmetics
- Priced offensively
My Experience with The Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond Max Driver
I’ve hit many, many, many drives on the range in testing the Triple Diamond Max.
Sometimes testing drivers is a long and painful process. This was such a time.
My driver swing is still hit and miss. So, I end up going through a lot of range sessions to figure out a driver.
I did that and figured out I really like the Triple Diamond Max.
I tested it against the Ai Smoke Triple Diamond from last year – one of my top two drivers of 2024. (Plus the Elyte X and Ai Smoke Max)
This’s year’s Max version feels springier and gave me a couple more yards when I missed the center.
Who’s The Elyte Triple Diamond Max for?
Callaway says it’s for +5 to 15 handicaps(I can see that.)who want more forgiveness, but still shape the ball.
It spins more than and launches higher than the standard Triple Diamond.
If you want the looks and workability of a players driver but with a touch of help when you need it, the Triple Diamond Max offers a best-of-both-worlds solution.
Low handicaps: (Yup) I’m one (though not off the tee) and I’d play this one in a heartbeat. Elite golfers with elite swing speed may need less spin.
Mid handicaps: (Probably) I’m a mid handicap off the tee most of the time these days. I rely on help from my driver and the Triple Diamond is a “helper.”
High handicaps: (Probably not) You’ve got the Elyte X or even the Elyte if you’ve got your heart set on a new driver. Otherwise, check these out.
Potential Alternatives
Titleist GT2 – My current favorite driver. It’s got ample forgiveness, explosive distance, premium looks, and costs the same as the Triple Diamond Max.
Callaway Paradym AI Smoke Triple Diamond – A hittable low spin driver for the rest of us. It performed superbly well for me during my testing last year and is basically as long as the new Triple Diamond Max at a couple hundred dollars less.
Cobra Darkspeed X – Another one of my favorite drivers from last year. Plenty long. Plenty forgiving once I moved the heavy sole weight to the rear position, and at a bargain basement price now.

Final Verdict
The Elyte Triple Diamond Max is an excellent driver that does what Callaway Claims.
- It’s long and forgiving.
- It launches high and goes high.
- You can shape it if that’s part of your game.
- It looks great behind the ball and has premium sound and feel.
Is it a major step up over last year’s Paradym AI Smoke Triple Diamond?
No…but is it is a little better, I think.
Should you upgrade? Not if you’re hitting your current driver well.
As usual…
My #1 suggestion is to test it before you buy it.
Either at your local golf store or take advantage of Global Golf’s risk free Utry trial program. I use it and recommend it.
