This is my first experience EVER with a brand new set of Mizuno irons.
I ordered the brand new for 2020 Mizuno JPX 921 Tour irons from Global Golf and just got them in.
They are beautiful and sleek and look ready to rock.
I've heard for years about how good Mizuno irons are and I'm excited to finally get my hands on a set for testing.
I'll play at least a couple rounds and spend a few hours on the driving range to get the full Mizuno experience.
First Impressions of the Mizuno JPX 921 Tour irons
Very nice looking irons that feel good and solid in my hands. It's clear to me these are performance irons. They look like precision tools meant to be in the hands of a craftsman. Guess I'll just have to do.
Irons tested are:
- Mizuno JPX 921 Tour Irons
- 4-iron through GW
- Standard lie and length
- KBS $-Taper Steel
They have a mat or satin finish and sit nicely behind the ball. There's no real intimidation factor that you often get from compact club heads.
The heads of the 921s are the same size as my Taylormade P790s. You see the difference in the topline and the sole. Both are much thinner in the 921's than 790s
The 921s also have less offset, which is to be expected.
