Golfer Geek improving rotation w: help of Gravity Fit TPro

This is our review of the GravityFit TPro (Thoracic pro).

I’m an avid golfer, 7ish handicap on my way to a 2 (been a 5.6), and frequent tester of golf clubs and equipment since 2015.

I’ve had the Gravity Fit TPro for a couple of months now. I’ve used it for every part of my game, from putter to full swing.

Summary: The GravityFit TPro is one of the most effective golf training aids for teaching the fundamentals of good golf posture and golf movement I’ve tried. It’s my favorite new training aid and I give it my highest recommendation. (It’s been around for years, but I just got a hold of it)

GravityFit TPro Overview

The GravityFit TPro helps get you in the correct golf posture, keeps you there, and teaches you how to move your body properly and efficiently through the golf motion.

It has over 30 years of research and science behind it. It’s the result of work done by a pioneer in the research on core stability – Dr. Carolyn Richardson. She created the GravityFit Exercise Model.

It comes with 3 bands:

  • Yellow band (least resistance)Best for skill development. Use it when your hands are on an actual club for putting, chipping, pitching, and with your full swing.
  • Red band (medium resistance)Best for building strength & stability for juniors or smaller golfers
  • Green band (most resistance)Best for building strength and stability (I’m wearing it right now to help with my posture when I’m at my desk)

There’s beaucoup training on the website and on their YouTube channel. It takes you from zero – putting the TPro on, to full swings, and fixing swing faults.

Why Consider the GravityFit TPro

  • It helps me get in the correct golf posture and keeps me there.
  • It helps me create and maintain width in my swing – awesome for better contact from the putter to full swing.
  • It helps me feel arm-body connection and improves my move or pivot off the ball and in my downswing.

And it does all this within a session. No, it’s not permanent. You need reps and continued use for that.

I love it for me – a 30-year golfer. But, I think this thing is lights out for beginner golfers. Imagine never having to unlearn bad setup, posture, and/or movement patterns.

How I use the GravityFit TPro

For every part of my golf game and more. The more is me sitting here typing this review while wearing the TPro with the green band. It keeps me from slumping over as I sit at my desk all day.

For golf:

I use the green band every day to go through the exercises outlined in the GravityFit training. I focus on the basics of a properly balanced setup.

  • I do slow deliberate pivots into my backswing for 10 reps, then
  • I do the same but I go from setup to follow through for 10 reps, then
  • I combine the two. I start from setup, go into my backswing, then pivot into my follow-through.

*All these reps are slow and deliberate because I’m trying to ingrain this movement.

I use the yellow band when I’m hitting balls. Either around the practice green or on the range. I always start with chipping.

  • I’ll go through the same motions as I did with the green band above, but without a club. Then,
  • I grab a wedge and start hitting chips. I focus on posture, maintaining radius, and swinging through smoothly.
  • I’ll go to pitching next and focus on the same elements, but with slight wrist break because the shots are longer.
  • Next, I hit the range and again go through the movements practice without a club.
  • I’ll go from wedges to mid-irons.

My top priority for all of this is posture, width, sequence, and form.

Who do I recommend the GravityFit TPro for?

Any golfer can benefit from using the TPro.

Inevitably, when you read about what the best touring pros in the world are working on – it’s the fundamentals. Always.

I think the GravityFit TPro is a perfect option to help with the fundamentals of good golf posture and good golf movement.

Our Verdict on the GravityFit TPro

I loved the TPro from the moment I heard about it. I knew it was legit immediately.

It’s developed by physical therapists for golfers to put us in the correct positions and strengthen muscles specific to good posture and good golf.

Working with it only cemented my first impression. It’s my favorite new training aid (even though it’s been around a while)
