This is Golfer Geeks’ Dprofy V3 Pro review.
I’m an avid golfer, 6ish handicap (on my way to a 2), and frequent tester of golf gear since 2015.
I’ve had the Dprofy V3 Pro for about 2 and a half months now. I’ve tested the speaker at home and on the course. I’ve tested the unit on the course multiple times.
The Dprofy V3 Pro connects easily via Bluetooth for good audio quality with music and podcasts.
- While connecting the golf app took a few tries, once working, it displays clear distances, hazard info, and shot tracking.
- It’s a solid, functional speaker and GPS unit for a great price.

Best For
Golfers who want a basic, yet accurate, GPS unit plus a good speaker on the course.
Considerations
Not the best GPS. Not the best speaker. But, good enough.
The Dprofy V3 Pro speaker connected effortlessly to my phone and had adequate sound quality with music, podcasts, and audio books.
I had a much harder time connecting the Dprofy app to the speaker and getting it to show course information. From what I’ve read, this is unique to me.
I had several failed attempts before finally getting everything to work as advertised. The display is straightforward and easy to read. You can swipe to quickly scan distances to hazards - which I love. You can even track your shot distances - which I also love.
I definitely see the utility of the V3 Pro. It’s not quite as seamless to use as I’d hoped, but it’s a solid unit and comes in at a more than reasonable price.

Sound Quality

As stated above, sound quality for the V3 Pro is good. Completely adequate. Not great.
To be fair, I’m not a speaker user on the golf course and I prefer not to hear them. But, I can judge the quality of the sound just fine.
I used the speaker extensively at home while practicing or merely doing work outside.
It connects nearly instantly - just turn the unit on - make sure it’s connected to your phone (this need be done only once) - start playing whatever…music, audiobooks, podcasts.
You can adjust volume on the V3 Pro itself or with your phone.
GPS Accuracy

I use a SkyCaddie GPS to play golf and plot my way around the course. Virtually, never a rangefinder (Unless I’m testing rangefinders).
The V3 Pro was yard for yard the same as my SkyCaddie, plus the GPS unit in the golf cart I used. At most, it was 2 yards different…and who’s to say which of the 3 was the most accurate.
I trust the V3 Pro numbers and feel completely confident pulling a club using them.
My only issue is there’s no course map screen on the V3 Pro to move the yardage marker around to other yardages and landmarks to enhance club and shot selection.
Ease of Use

Hooking up Bluetooth and the speaker could not be easier. I had a harder time syncing or binding the Dprofy app (required for use as a GPS) to the unit.
Then, once I figured that out, with help from the people at Dprofy, the app wouldn’t automatically connect to the unit once I started a round. This is supposed to happen instantly.
Well, I tried intermittently for 4 rounds before I got it to work for my 5th round.
To be fair - I think this problem is unique to me. I read other reviews of the V3 Pro and no one else complained of this issue.
So, it could be my specific unit.
The GPS function is supposed to advance you to the next hole automatically. I had to do this manually a few times. Other reviewers said it was always automatic for them.
Features
So, it’s a GPS and a Speaker. And, within the GPS you can track yardage with a given club plus swipe to a screen with yardages to hazards.
All useful and all intuitive on the unit.
For tracking your yardage, you have to use the touchscreen to alert it to track the next yardage and to clear the current yardage.
The magnet on the back of the device is VERY strong. You’re not losing this thing by accident.
The rest of the feature list, per Dprofy:
- 2.8" touchscreen: Track distances, scores, and hazards with a tap.
- Golf GPS: Pre-loaded with US courses, with distances to the front, center, and back of the green.
- 20W speaker: Built to carry across wide-open fairways.
- “Last Shot” tracking: Log your drive distance with a single tap and sync scores to the app.
- 9900mAh battery: Rated for 3 full rounds, and it doubles as a power bank.
- Apple Find My: Track the device with no subscription fee.
Value
The V3 Pro comes in at ~$149 right now. Regular price is listed at $179. For GPS units, that’s quite a good price, in my opinion. I don’t care about speakers, so that’s all gravy to me. If you need a speaker, you’re getting an even better deal.
Final Verdict
If you want a meat and potatoes accurate GPS that genuinely helps you get around the course AND you have to have music while you play…I see no need to look further than the V3 Pro.
It does what it says and does it at a reasonable price.
