All but a very few of us golfers use golf carts. Riding carts are far and away the most popular, but there are always more walking carts coming onto the market. Laird Hamilton even has a company with a golf cart you ride like a surf board. You’ve probably checked out the video above. Looks really cool, though the price might slow you down.
I really don’t mind walking at all. In fact, I’m a big fan of the exercise, but most of the courses I play seem to be about 90% or more riding cart vs. walking. For those that chose to walk, and it’s decidedly the older crowd- there are some really cool walking carts available. They are packed with features, and make walking just about as close to the having a caddie experience as you can get without a caddie.
In these pages I cover offerings from manufacturers such as Powakaddy, Motocaddy, Big Max, and Stewart. These are of the “powered” and “push or pull” variety. It’s an option worth looking at for those of us that want to mix in a little exercise with our golf. I also happen to think that it allows you to play better golf. Your body stays supple and warm from the constant, but not vigorous, movement required when walking a course during a round.
This is a growing sector of the golf accessory market, as evidenced by the number of companies that cater exclusively to walkers on the golf course.
