How do I choose the best mat for me?
A few things to consider:
What’s your budget?
You can get a “good enough” mat to get started for around $70 or so. Or, you can spend up to about $500 for a large premium mat. All up to you.
How serious are you about golf?
I always caution golfers on spending good money on good training aids they won’t use. Don’t shell out a bunch of money for a premium quality mat and let it sit. Get something a level or two down.
How much room do you have?
The smallest mats are around 10ft long and a couple feet wide. A 13ft mat is longer than you think. I’ve got 16ft and 26ft mats on this page. They take up a whole lot of space.
Will you need to put it away after using it every, most, some, or none of the time?
See above. You have ample space, but it can’t be dedicated to your putting training. Some mats store easily (all the mats on this page). And some don’t.
